PLAY! by Sephora March 2017 Box Review

Hey mamas, I recently subscribed to the Play! by Sephora box after reading so many great reviews. Normally, there is a waiting list ( some people have waited up to a year) but somehow I got lucky when I went to subscribe. So for my mamas who don’t know what the Play! by Sephora box is, let me give you some info on it. Play! is a monthly subscription beauty box and it only cost $10!  Each month you will receive five deluxe skincare, makeup, and hair care samples (plus a fragrance bonus!) in a cute collectable bag.  You will also receive access to Sephora videos, a PLAY! BOOK with tips, how-tos and beauty advice for your sample products, and a PLAY! Pass you can redeem for 50 beauty insider points and a one on one tutorial at your local Sephora.

This month’s theme was Glow your own way, check out this month’s goodies below.

Verb Ghost Oil 0.57 fl oz. $6.99

What is it: A transparent, restorative hair oil that smooths frizz and delivers shine for sleek, satiny hair from roots to ends.

My Thoughts: When I first seen a hair product I was a bit nervous because lately I have been being very careful about what I put in my hair, however I’m glad I tried it.  It smells great, and it definitely delivers shine to your hair. While it didn’t keep the frizz away from my roots, it did a great job of keeping it away from my ends. Although it is a trial size, it is a pretty decent size because we all know a little oil goes a long way. Overall I was pretty happy with this product, I will decide if I want to buy the full-size once I’ve finished it

GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in “Nude Glow” 0.24 oz, Value $6.92

What is it: Two-in-one moisturizer and luminizer hydrates, blurs, and enhances any complexion with a lit-from-within finish.

My Thoughts: I must start off with how much I love the way this product smells. Once I applied it, it gave me a beautiful healthy glow but once I applied foundation over it, it disappeared. I would recommend maybe applying after you have already put on your foundation if you’re looking for a glow.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal 0.67 fl oz $19.00

What it is: Light-reflecting cream perfects skin with subtle luminosity and a golden pearl shade for a dewy, natural glow.

My Thoughts: This product is extremely similar to the Glam Glow Moisturizer, it smelled nice and pretty much did the exact same thing. The only difference I noticed was it had a lot more shimmer. I used this one to highlight my cheek bones, and it left a beautiful glow. Personally I recommend this one over the Glam Glow Glowstarter.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Big Bang

What is it? Creamy, single-swipe lipstick goes on smooth for incredibly bold, statement-making color with a metallic sparkle.

My Thoughts: This was my favorite sample in the bag. I normally don’t do bold lipstick aside from red tones but I had to try it. I first tried to apply by itself and it was more shimmer than color but when paired with a hot pink matte lipstick it was AMAZING!

Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm 0.1 oz $7.20

What is it: Game-changing makeup and skin care hybrid primes and finishes with a whipped formula for a luminous, ethereal effect.

My Thoughts: This is another sample very similar to the GlamGlow moisturizer and Becca Skin Perfector, but it does not smell as great as the other too. Honestly I didn’t give this product much attention because I was pretty disappointed with receiving 3 products that were so similar.

Bonus Fragrance Sample:Atelier Cologne Clementine California

What is it: a perfume inspired by the California coast, this scent sparkles with ripe citrus and a suggestion of sunny, delicate florals.

My Thoughts: I really like the sweet scent of this perfume. Not really sure if I would go and buy the full size but for a sample, its great!

Overall Thoughts: Honestly, I wasn’t that happy about my first box, maybe because I had such high expectations, and I seen other March Boxes that were way better. I was pretty disappointed about getting 3 sample items that pretty much did the same thing.
